Anne is a hobby artist, when she stops gardening for long enough to paint.
She is an Honorary member of The Pastel Society of Victoria and currently editor of the VicPastel news, the Australian Guild of Realist Artists, Sherbrooke Art Society and Emerald Art Society.
She has been taught by Barbara McManus, a prize-winning, prestigious pastel artist, for many years, and has attended many workshops and demonstrations given by other various Australian artists such as Rosemary Todman-Parrant, Maxwell Wilks, Herman Pekel, John Dudley, Ross Paterson, Lee Machelak and many others, including visiting American artists.
She admires and has been influenced by the work of American artists John Singer-Sargent, Harley Brown, Richard McKinley, and especially the French and Australian Impressionists.
She prefers landscape, portrait painting and life drawing, but tackles still life and seascapes in the wonderful, immediate medium of pastels. She is exploring oil painting and mixed media.
Anne has sold many works which now are in the USA, Germany, and Australia. She has exhibited in copious art shows and has had many Highly Commended and Commended awards, but she is still practising and hoping one day to produce that special painting which will be recognised as a prize winner.
