After studying Graphic Design at Caulfield Institute of Technology, Heather worked as a designer/illustrator in the advertising industry. She left this career in 1977 to rear her young family and pursue her interest in the visual arts. She has been painting in both oils and pastel since although pastel is her preferred medium. Heather studied oils with the late Alan Martin, pastel with Ming Bellamy Mackay and Brian Armstrong. Heather's paintings reflect her background in tonal painting combined with a passionate feeling for colour.
Her works are represented in private and corporate collections in Australia and Europe. In August 2001, Heather held her first solo exhibition, which was a resounding success. In 1989 she wrote and illustrated (in pastel) a children's book entitled There are dinosaurs at Billy's Place, published in 1990. (40,000 copies sold)
Heather currently teaches in pastel at both theTemplestowe and Mentone Art Groups.
Heather is an Honorary Life Member of the PSV.
